Rainbow City and Southside both feature a variety of stores and restaurants with a mix of national chains and independent local businesses. A string of quality restaurants is clustered along the stretch of the Coosa River separating Rainbow City from Gadsden at Rainbow City’s northern edge.

is one of the largest catfish and seafood restaurants in the entire Southeastern United States. This long-standing family-run restaurant serves delicious grain-fed catfish raised in neighboring Mississippi alongside signature cornbread, slaw, pickled onions, greens, and other tasty sides. is another longtime favorite in this scenic riverfront dining area. This buzzing BBQ spot offers Southern classics such as tender pulled pork, mouthwatering ribs, and catfish.
On Rainbow City’s southern stretch of riverfront facing Southside, Little Bridge Marina
also offers great barbecue with hearty platters of meat smoked fresh daily. The adjacent Little Bridge Marina Bar & Grill pairs tasty pizzas, subs and Mexican eats with craft beer and regular live music. Little Bridge Marina also features a store selling snacks, baked goods, and draft beer to go, plus propane and other essentials for pleasure boating and fishing on the Coosa River and Neely Henry Lake. Things to Do
is the best place to head for recreation on the Coosa River and Upper Neely Henry Lake. Here you’ll find two stationary docks and a boat ramp plus a pavilion, playground, and piers you can jump off into the water. Coosa Soccer Recreation Fields
offer youth soccer league programs on the grounds of Rainbow Middle School. The pretty green space of Rainbow City Park

Less than 20 minutes’ drive from the heart of Southside, Silver Lakes Golf Course
is one of the premier facilities of Alabama’s famous Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail. Silver Lakes offers 36 challenging holes of golfing across four courses with dramatic Appalachian foothills elevation changes and a beautiful landscape of forests, grasslands, and wetlands.
