Decks & Docks is an inviting waterfront eatery nestled beside the Leesburg Bridge on the scenic Weiss Lake waterfront. Decks & Docks’ house special is a Cajun shrimp boil loaded with half a pound of large shrimp and served alongside potatoes and corn ears drizzled in Cajun butter. The menu also includes mouthwatering burgers with gourmet toppings, chicken wings in a wide variety of sauces, and baskets of hand-battered catfish and shrimp. Mountain Parkway Grill is an inland favorite serving classic Southern eats in a family-friendly setting. Here you can dine on succulent choice steaks, delicious grilled chops, smoked chicken and ribs, fried catfish, and hearty BBQ.

Weiss Lake is known as the crappie capital of the world for the freshwater fish that can be found in abundance here. Anglers also encounter lots of largemouth and striped bass, which sometimes reach sizes of more than 25 pounds. Weiss Lake’s fishing stock includes catfish and crawfish, which can be found in the flats at the water’s edge. Fishing tournaments are held on the lake throughout the year. Other events include a spectacular fireworks display for the Fourth of July.
Weiss Lake spans more than 30,000 acres, and there are many marinas, boat ramps, and campgrounds located along its 447-mile shoreline. Attractions near the lakefront also include Pirate’s Bay Water Park. The water park is full of fun slides and pools as well as a nine-hole putt-putt golf course. Waters feeding into Weiss Lake include the Coosa River and Little River.
Little River Canyon National Preserve encompasses an enormous area of 15,288 acres surrounding Little River and Lookout Mountain. More than 20 miles of backcountry roads and 26 miles of hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding trails run through the preserve, exposing visitors to a stunning landscape of waterfalls, woods, and breathtaking overlooks. Popular activities on the river include fly fishing and kayaking. The preserve also offers opportunities for rock climbing and hunting.
